I came from Poughkeepsie, New York, which means I know exactly what it's like to move somewhere that looks nothing like where you grew up. Most of my clients are doing the same thing — arriving from California, Nevada, the Midwest or a set of military orders, trying to make an enormous decision about a place they've spent four days in.

So I over-explain. I answer my own phone. I tell people when a house is wrong for them even when it costs me the sale, and when the timing is wrong even when it costs me the client.
